
Clay Meadows
Head of School
Mr. Meadows serves as the Head of School at Fortis Classical Christian Academy and has been in Christian faith-based teaching and leadership education since 2008. Before joining Fortis Academy, Mr. Meadows spent 14 years at First Assembly Christian School (FACS) in Memphis, Tennessee, where he taught Jr. High Bible for seven years and High School Bible for another seven. During his tenure at FACS, he also served as Jr. High Guidance Counselor for 12 years, supporting students spiritually, academically, and emotionally. He comes from a family with a strong heritage in Christian education—both his father and uncle devoted 45 years to the field, with his father serving his entire career as a Head of School. This legacy continues to shape Mr. Meadows’ calling to shepherd students, support families and teachers, and guide the Fortis community.
Mr. Meadows earned a master’s degree in Christian Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Crichton College. He is also the author of two books: Abide Devotional and Brand Yourself with Honor, which reflect his passion for spiritual formation and character development.

Sheila Torres
Director of Academics
Mrs. Torres has been in education since 2008 and currently serves as the Director of Academics. Before assuming this role in 2025, Mrs. Torres served as lead 3rd grade teacher and Grammar Academic Coordinator at Fortis Academy “I’m passionate about building strong foundations for young learners. Since 2024 I’ve served as the Grammar Academic Coordinator, supporting the development and strengthening of academic programs across the school. I am deeply committed to classical education and its ability to shape both the minds and character of students.” Mrs. Torres has three daughters who attend Fortis, which gives her the unique joy of engaging in the school community as both an administrator and a parent. Outside the classroom she is an active member of her church and serves on the worship team.

Caanon Jung
Director of Enrollment
Mrs. Jung serves as the Director of Enrollment at Fortis Academy and has been associated with Fortis as a co-teaching parent since 2014. Mrs. Jung has 4 students at Fortis ranging from Grammar to Rhetoric. Her love for Classical Christian education and Fortis Academy’s unique co-teacher approach lead her to assume the role of Director of Enrollment in 2025. Mrs. Jung has a passion for new families and being there to assist throughout the enrollment process.

Aaron Bamsch
Director of Security
Mr. Bamsch was born and raised in Central Texas and graduated from Georgetown High School in 2002. He then Joined the Navy and served 5 years on the USS Dolye (FFG-39) where he served 2 deployments until 2007. Mr. Bamsch moved back to Texas and Joined the Texas National Guard where he served for 6 years and had one deployment to Iraq and several hurricane deployments in Texas. Before joining Fortis Academy as the Director of Security he served with the Jarrell Vol Fire Department for 8 years. He currently lives in Liberty Hill and has two students at Fortis Academy.

Dr. Newman
Dean of Students and Office Manager
Dr. Newman holds a Ph.D. in history and has devoted his life to education, leadership, and service. Over more than four decades, he has taught history at nearly every level—from the sixth grade classrooms to college lecture halls, helping students not only understand the past, but also develop the habits of mind necessary for thoughtful, responsible engagement with the present. “During my fifteen years in the classroom, I emphasized intellectual rigor, moral reflection, and the belief that history, taught well, forms both knowledge and character.”
Dr. Newman’s professional career has been deeply rooted in educational leadership. He served for eight years as headmaster of a K–12 school, providing vision and oversight across all grade levels while fostering a culture of academic excellence and personal responsibility. He also spent twenty-three years as a high school principal, focusing on institutional stability, faculty development, and student growth. In each role, Dr. Newman sought to integrate scholarly training with practical administration, shaping schools marked by clarity of purpose, discipline, and care for the whole person.
In addition to his work in education, Dr. Newman served as pastor of two churches. This calling allowed him to bring together teaching, leadership, and pastoral care in service to faith communities, emphasizing integrity, service, and the formation of lives grounded in meaning and responsibility.
