Graduation

We are very excited about commencement at Fortis Academy.  This represents a major milestone in the life of our students, and for us as a community .  It is our sincere prayer that their education in academics, virtue and faith will be a light to their families, friends, co-workers, communities and in their generation. 

As we prepare for graduation, here are some important items:

1.       Graduation Logistics:

a.       Commencement Date: Saturday June 13th @ 10:00 a.m.

b.       Location: Fortis Academy Sanctuary – 15611 W. St. Hwy 29, Liberty Hill, TX 78642

c.       Reception Afterwards with appetizers and cake.

2.       Rehearsal

a.       Friday June 12th from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Fortis Academy.

3.       Other General Items:

a.       Graduate Display – Each family should prepare a 4’ display (set on a table) including items such as:

                                                               i.      Pictures

                                                             ii.      Notes from family

                                                           iii.      Favorite books

                                                           iv.      Items representing hobbies

                                                             v.      Awards and accomplishments

                                                           vi.      Favorite Quotes

                                                          vii.      Anything that will honor the graduate and create a lasting memory.

4.       Fortis & Homeschool Graduates

a.       We are very proud of all our graduates and look forward to commencement as a time of great pride for us.

b.       Fortis Graduates will be distinguished from Homeschool graduates by the color of their tassel.  We will present the Fortis Graduates first and then we will invite the parents of homeschool students to the stage to present their diplomas.  You can order homeschool diplomas HERE. 

b.       Please order Cap and Gowns (see size chart below), and pay the graduation fee. 

Sizing the Gown:

Be sure to measure the student’s height with the shoes they will wear for the ceremony. The size listed is the actual length of the gown from the back neck to the hem. Gowns are sized so that the hem is 8 to 10 inches from the floor. If a longer gown or sleeve length is desired, order one size larger than what would be normal for your height.

Do you need a Plus sized gown?

The “Plus” size gowns will comfortably fit a bust/waist/hip measurement of 70.” If you do not need this much width in the body of the gown, but your weight is higher than that listed on the chart for your size, we suggest that you order the next gown length. (For example, if you are 5’4″ and weigh 210 lbs, the size 48 may be too small, but if you feel that the Plus 1 would be too large, we’d recommend ordering the size 51 gown.)

Caps are not sized:

The caps have small elastic panels on the sides which allow them to work with almost any head size. We do not require a head measurement, only a gown size. If you have an unusually large head (over 24-1/4″, which is a 7-3/4 or XXL hat size), write a note for us in the checkout area giving us your head measurement so that we can accomodate you!
